Modern Atlanta Traces Its Start to 1960 (10/2007)
A vision 47 years ago went beyond just a building. In 1960, renowned architect John Portman built the Merchandise Mart. It would go on to overlook some of Atlanta’s signature Portman-designed buildings in Downtown, including SunTrust Plaza, Peachtree Center and the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. (MORE)

Israeli-Backed Investment Group in United States Wins Award with Historic Hurt Building (10/2007)
Atlanta’s historic Hurt Building, said to be the 17th-largest office building in the world at the time of its construction (1913 to 1926), is the proud winner of the 2007 TOBY Award (The Office Building of the Year) for historic buildings from Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International. If you can’t find some of your old Jewish business contacts and friends from New York and New Jersey, try looking for them in Atlanta. According to a survey commissioned by the Atlanta Jewish Federation, 31 percent of Jewish newcomers to Atlanta are from these states. (MORE)
