Atlanta, October 29, 2007 --- The American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Region is leading a delegation from Atlanta to Israel Oct. 27-Nov. 1, where 10 representatives from Georgia companies will meet with business and governmental leaders crossing a variety of sectors.

The Business Mission to Israel participants will meet with investors in the technology and life sciences industries, attend the prime minister’s economic conference, participate in an environmental technologies conference and a seminar on real estate investment as well as visit technology centers in five Israeli cities.

“The new technologies being developed by Israeli companies are extraordinary, and this business mission is sure to create new relationships between U.S. and Israeli companies as well as promoting our region for investment and economic development,” Tom Glaser, the chamber’s president, said in a press release.

The chamber, which was founded in 1992, has begun to focus strategically on real estate, noting that the sector could attract strong interest in Atlanta from Israeli investors.

Mr. Glaser said that one of the chamber’s goals on the trip will be to boost awareness about Atlanta’s real estate opportunities, as compared with better-known cities like New York.

“They need to know that Atlanta, the business capital of the Southeast, offers its own spectacular opportunities,” Mr. Glaser said in the release.

Participants in the mission include Mr. Glaser; Carol Henderson, director of innovation and technology, Georgia Department of Economic Development; Mark Weiss, president, Renaissance Communications Group Inc.; Laurence Olivier, board member at the chamber and partner, Veritas Venture Partners; Barry Sobel, vice president, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc.; Alek Szlam, CEO, Szlam Enterprises Inc.; Joshua Pursell, vice president, Legends Land Development Group; Richard Foisy, chief financial officer at Legends; Firooz Israel, president, Zagros Solutions Inc. and Ilan Friedman, Israel director at the chamber.
